Circuits
Circuit training doesn’t have to be confined to a group class format.
It can be easily adapted to train just one or two individuals.
Only a few props are required, plus a little bit of space to avoid tripping over the furniture! In good weather there is no reason why circuits cannot be performed outside. Circuits may appeal to individuals who feel they are too busy to exercise. In an hours session they will benefit from improvements in cardiovascular health, stamina, strength and balance.
Where appropriate the circuit can be based on lifestyle activities e.g. carrying
the shopping. This will encourage efficiency of functional movement and may
be of particular benefit to older individuals. If you don’t fancy training
alone why not train with a friend. The circuit can be more interactive and you
can challenge each other, it might even be more fun!
