Top 10 Fitness Q and A

Q: Don’t females who train with weights get big muscles and start to look masculine?

A: This is a common myth. In reality females just don’t have the same amount of hormones as men which cause muscle hypertrophy (bigger muscles). The incredibly “ripped” women you see in magazines are either genetically gifted or most likely taking err, let’s just say chemical enhancement.
What will happen is that your muscle tone will develop making you more shapely. Also muscle actually burns more calories both during exercise and rest. So if you want to change your shape then resistance training is a must.

Q: What’s the best diet?

A: Forget diets! The best way to keep healthy and lean is to follow a lifelong healthy eating routine. A: Yes, this is a tricky one! Firstly, just become more active by e.g. walking to work, taking the stairs instead of the lift. After a few weeks you’ll be amazed at how much better you feel.
This should give you the incentive to progress. Think about the activities you enjoyed when you were a child, or your favourite sport at school , it’s never too late to give them another try.
